Short description / Book summary (www.goodreads.com): Merrin Meredith has returned with Darke plans for Septimus, and he's aided by the terrible Tertius Fame, the ghost of the very first Chief Hermetic Scribe. Tertius is determined to send Septimus on a Queste from which he'll never return, but Septimus, Jenna, and Beetle have other plans - they are headed for the mysterious House of Foryx, the place where all times do meet, and the place where they hope they will be able to find Nicko and Snorri, who are trapped 500 years in the past. Will Septimus be able to find the House of Foryx and rescue his brother?
Queste is filled with nonstop action, humour and fantastical adventure as Septimus continues his journey of Magykal self-discovery.

My Thoughts: The more I think about this book, the more i dislike it. Although this book seems better than the first two of the series, like them, it is half hearted and incomplete. Some sequences of events just dont make sense, while other end abruptly and seem to the reader that it has been left halfway through.
The characters are more mature and the plot is too, but the details are all over the place. The series on the whole is not too bad but does not satisfy the readers expectations. Again, great graphics from Mark Zug.

Characters: Septimus Heap, Jenna, Beetle, Merrin, Fume, Hotep-Ra
My rating of the book: ***
Next read: Golden Compass - Philip Pullman
Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's nephew - C. S Lewis
